Who hath Redness of Eyes?

                                                                       Wine cellar

Many Christians today I suspect read how Jesus turned water into wine and used it in the sacrament so they will justify themselves drinking alcohol or perhaps even taking other drugs. In the Bible however we also read: 20Be not among winebibbers… 29Who hath redness of eyes? 30They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine. 32At the last it biteth like a serpent… 33Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things. (Proverbs 23:20-33) 1Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise. (Proverbs 20:1) With regards to John the Baptist an angel of the Lord reveals to his father Zacharias: He shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. (Bible, Luke 1:15) In a revelation known as the Word of Wisdom, the prophet Joseph Smith revealed to the members of the Mormon Church: 4. Behold, verily, thus saith the Lord unto you… 5. That inasmuch as any man drinketh wine or strong drink among you, behold it is not good, neither meet in the sight of your Father, only in assembling yourselves together to offer up your sacraments before him. 6. And, behold, this should be wine, yea, pure wine [non-alcoholic] of the grape of the vine, of your own make. 8. And… tobacco is not… good for man. (THE DOCTRINE AND COVENANTS SECTION 89 OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, )

The Ascended Master Saint Germain teaches: If you desire our Radiation and Assistance do not… use alcohol or tobacco. ('The Voice of the I AM' 1938 March p11) Concerning other drugs, or dope, the Ascended Master Beloved Victory claims: By it the sinister activity has wrecked the Nations of earth for centuries upon centuries. ('The Voice of the I AM' 1938 March p9)
